Born on January 1, 1941, in Jaipur to a Sindhi family, Asrani initially worked as a voice artist at All India Radio before pursuing acting. Reports from his manager revealed he was unwell for about two weeks before passing peacefully at 3 PM. As per his wishes, his funeral was held privately that evening at Santacruz Crematorium, attended only by close family and friends.
